OUR HORSES

HEIDI is a 17-year-old Halflinger (big pony) with a wonderful disposition and has been with Sunrise since she was the age of 5. She is sturdy and safe and is used by most of our riders. In addition, Heidi has competed in Special Olympics since 2007. She is a smart but mischievous horse who will break out of the pasture to get grass. Her motto is: “The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence”.

NEMO is a big, older paint who has a wonderful disposition. At the age of 26 he is wise and careful. He is very safe and easy to ride. Because of his height we use him for any lesson in which the rider does not need support. He is named Nemo because he has 2 white spots that look like fish.

RHINESTONE is a well-trained western pleasure paint who has very smooth gaits and is easy to ride. She is 24 years old and is used for our independent riders. She has a nice disposition but every once-in-a-while, she can be a little moody.
